Andrew Vitale began studying Aikido in August 1996 as a graduate student at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He joined the Chicago Aikikai as a full-time member in 1998 where he studied under the late Kevin Choate Sensei until his untimely passing in 2012. Today, Vitale Sensei is an active student / instructor at the Chicago Aikikai under Marsha Turner Sensei and travels extensively throughout the Midwest and the nation for various seminars and camps. In March 2019, he was awarded the rank of yondan.
